For someone who has been a part of Hollywood for so long, Neil Sedaka, an American pop musician, has had his fair share of rumors. Speculations concerning his sexual orientation are arguably the craziest of them all. It’s odd because the ‘Grammy winner has been married to his wife for more than 57 years. The couple has even raised two children who are now adults.

Proud Grandparent and Net Worth

On July 24, 2021, Sedaka took to Instagram to share his happiness as a grandfather whose grandchildren were off to college. He has two children and three grandchildren in total.

Sedaka, in addition to spending time with his beloved family, promotes his New York Times Bestselling children’s book, Dinosaur Pet. He spends a significant amount of time on social media.

When he isn’t posting about his mini-concerts, he posts about his family. Celebritynetworth.com estimates Neil Sedaka’s net worth to be $100 million as of December 2022. This comes as no surprise considering he has written or co-authored over 500 songs and sold millions of CDs.

Soon after working with Howard Greenfield, gay rumors began to circulate

The late Howard Greenfield’s musical partnership with Sedaka is recognized as a breakthrough point in rock & roll history. During their twenty-year cooperation, they developed some of the most charming melodies of the Brill Building era and sold millions of records.

This long-term relationship, however, has given rise to several ideas concerning Sedaka’s sexual orientation. At the time, Greenfield was openly gay, fueling speculation that the American pianist was also gay. In contrast, the ‘Oh! Carol’s singer preferred to remain mute and never responded to the rumors.

When he married his now-wife, Leba Sedaka, the story was put to rest. Following the publication of the singer-2016 songwriter’s album, I Do It For Applause, similar allegations began to spread after more than a half-century.

In the album’s song ‘Super Hottie,’ the Long Island Music Hall of Fame inductee spoke of a young male stud’s alluring beauty. Another song, ‘Should I Begin The Dance,’ was a tango about a male brothel. Because of his bold and sensuous lyrics, there was much discussion regarding whether or not he was gay. However, Sedaka stayed mute and did not address the topic, as he had done previously.

His Proven Technique for a Happy Married Life

While his sexual orientation is still being discussed in online forums, the reality remains that he is a married guy. The 1983 Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee married his long-time wife, Leba Sedaka, on September 11, 1962. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter called Dara Felice Sedaka, on June 26, 1963.

The family of three was completed four years later, in 1967, with the addition of their second child, a son called Mark Charles Sedaka. The four-person family has been living in harmony and enjoying their time together since then.

Furthermore, when his son Mark married his partner, Samantha Sedaka, and welcomed three children, the famed record producer’s family increased.

When asked by Dailymail about the secret to his long-lasting marriage, the musician responded that he has always respected and loved his partner. He also mentioned that he and his wife had experienced many ups and downs and had struggled, cried, and laughed together.
